  1. This WWIVnet<->Internet mail gateway is open to the public as long as
  2. certain conditions are adhered to. If you abuse the gateway you can
  3. and will be prevented from using it in the future. Please note that
  4. the following situations are considered abuse:

  6. 1. An occasional email is fine, but use of the gateway to send excessive
  7. amounts of mail constitutes abuse. The definition of "excessive amounts"
  8. is at the sole discretion of the gateway operator.

  10. 2. Having files sent from file servers constitutes abuse.
  11.  
  12. 3. Subscribing to Internet or Bitnet mailing lists constitutes abuse.

  15. These aren't the only types of abuse, and this list is not intended to
  16. be definitive. However, if you do any of the above things, or anything
  17. similar, you *will be prevented* from using the gateway in the future.
  18. The definition of abuse is at the sole discretion of the system
  19. administrator. If you are unsure as to whether your proposed use of
  20. the gateway constitutes abuse, ask BEFORE you do it.

  22. Please remember that even this service doesn't cost *you* any money, it
  23. does cost *someone* money. If you use a little common sense and a
  24. little common courtesy everything will be fine. Thank you for your
